Teenage Team is Kitted Out

Members of a teenage football team whose new kit was stolen are celebrating after a Wolverhampton Company stepped in to offer a replacement.

Wolverhampton City FC players were taking part in a league game in Four Ashes in August when the kit was taken from Manager Garry Bennett's van.

The van had been parked at the Four Ashes Inn car park in Station Road. The team was playing in an older kit at the time.

The theft left the Manager and the players devastated.

But now they have netted a brand new kit thanks to the kind-hearted bosses at Cooper Coated Coil, Planetary Road, Wednesfield, who spotted the teams appeal in the Express & Star.

Company spokeswoman Heather Clapton said: 'Our Managing Director saw a piece about the theft in the paper, and there was absolutely nothing the team could have done about the theft so we wanted to help.'
