Within the construction industry, pre-coated metal can be found in the following two applications:-

Exterior applications 
In order to improve the aesthetics of a building, clients’ may enhance particular elements (e.g. roofing systems, capping strips, rainwater goods, soffits and fascias). This can be achieved by combining new colours, UV resistant coatings and corrosion resistant substrates (e.g. zinc-coated mild steel, aluminium and stainless steel). A further example can be seen on roofing systems where an adhesive primed pre-coated steel offers significant benefits in sealing and installation of rubber water-proofing membranes.

Interior applications
In contrast, pre-coating metals can be used for internal construction fittings (e.g. shelving units, capping strips, lighting and ceiling tile systems). With regards to applications where minimum weight is a requirement (e.g. ceiling tile systems) light gauge aluminium substrates are available. Such fittings can be finished in a wide range of colours.
